Transtech has gained Queensland Government approval for involvement in the second stage of its Interim On Board Mass (OBM) program.


Transtech’s continued commitment to the On Board Mass program in Queensland

Transtech is now approved to offer immediate support and enablement for the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)’s version 2 of the QLD Interim On Board Mass (OBM) program.
The program provides operators with the opportunity to increase payload when utilising specific vehicle configurations. The expansion of the road network on routes such as the Port of Brisbane to Toowoomba, permits vehicles to carry increased mass in exchange for being enrolled in the program.


The not-so-obvious reasons why transport operators should care about compliance.

Following the Mona Vale incident in early 2014, jurisdictions like NSW’s Roads & Maritime Service (RMS) have increased their watch on compliance with crackdowns aimed at catching out non-compliant operators and drivers. Under the Chain of Responsibility (CoR), everyone is liable for his or her role in compliance, from senior management, supervisors and staff through to the customer; the responsibility is no longer just on the driver’s head. There is no excuse for non-compliance.
