Delivery Management: eSwap™

eSwap™ is Transtech’s state of the art mobile point of sale application, specifically designed for swapping empty containers for full ones. eSwap tracks, in real time, the delivery status of goods within the mobile environment and electronically manages transactions. With eSwap you always know where your deliveries stand. Gone are the problems of missed deliveries, lost inventory, and poor customer service.

The added complexity associated with engaging in the pickup and delivery of goods in the one trip, necessitates a tighter command of delivery operations. With an accurate and reliable means of managing deliveries and pickups and monitoring the level of on-truck inventory, eSwap is the essential tool for any company that wants to eliminate manual processes within their delivery chain and gain real operational efficiencies.

How does it work?

eSwap converts customer details from your ERP system into scheduled delivery trips. Trips are allocated to specific drivers with trip details transmitted to the drivers PDA. At the point of delivery the PDA is used to capture the recipient’s signature and confirm or alter the number of goods delivered and picked up. eSwap allows an invoice/delivery docket to be instantaneously printed on site. Where payments are made, these can be entered directly into eSwap (cash, cheque, credit card), with a receipt produced immediately. eSwap communicates information in real time using GPRS with a server application in the organisations scheduling centre, allowing these transactions to be made visible at the office the moment they occur.

So how can eSwap help?

Real time transaction information reduces the invoicing cycle and electronic signature capture improves proof of delivery access. Customer service representatives can sigh a breath a relief- no longer will they be required to sift through mountains of paperwork to find delivery information. With eSwap it is possible to gain access to proof of delivery in a matter of seconds.

With schedulers empowered with real time information regarding the amount of stock volume remaining on the truck, late orders can be readily allocated, midway through trip, to the most appropriate truck. Cancelled orders are also no problem with eSwap- schedulers can delete stops while the trip is in progress with assurance that the driver’s delivery manifest is updated immediately.

In the event of a non-delivery, eSwap allows a reason to be recorded on the device to facilitate the completion of post-delivery management and reporting processes.

eSwap can operate on a range of Pocket PC-based hand-held terminals and is compatible with a number of ERP systems including Oracle and SAP.

Furthermore, eSwap has been designed to work as a stand-alone point of sale application, or as part of an integrated Transtech solution. eSwap can seamlessly integrate with vehicle routing software Direct Route to optimise delivery/pickup schedules and ePlan, to forecast deliveries and improve delivery coordination.
