ResourcePro
You have finished optimising your routes for the week using Direct Route, and now you have to determine the number of drivers and trucks that will be required. No problem - let Appian's ResourcePro do it for you!
ResourcePro uses robust scheduling algorithms to assign routes to drivers and trucks and minimize the resources needed for a week. The Vehicle and Driver assignments are presented in a Gantt chart format. The chart provides users the ability to change the assignments, route departure times, and days using drag and drop. The Gantt chart can be configured (time scale of hours to weeks) and printed or saved for presentations.
A major strength of the ResourcePro's schedule charts is the graphic representation of the different events (driving, arrivals, layovers, wait times, etc.) that occur on a route as it is simulated within a planning horizon. Each event is presented in a different configuration (color or size of the bar) to distinguish from each other. (For example, blue for the route which is labelled with its route number, and pink for the layover time.) The labels on the bars distinguish routes on the chart. When a route is dragged and dropped (to a different time, day or resource) it is automatically re-simulated and scheduled to check feasibility of the move. In case of infeasible moves users are warned of a violation. However, you always have the last say in making the assignments. Important resource statistics are also presented on the chart for quick reference.
ResourcePro will output all the summary information you need to put together a bid or schedule your loads for the next week. The detailed information for each route is also available through Direct Route. Each can be output to an Excel file. Furthermore, you can use pictures generated by ResourcePro for presentations.
When automatically scheduling routes for a driver, ResourcePro ensures that fatigue management regulations are complied with by considering the rules for a 7 or 8 day rolling period. Additionally, ResourcePro will consider teams vs. singles, day cab vs. sleeper, and many other constraints during the scheduling process.
